Victoria Betterman, 89
Victoria M. Betterman passed away peacefully with family at her side on July 26, 2014 at Pondera Medical Center from natural causes.
A funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, September 13 at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Conrad, Montana.
Victoria was born July 20, 1925 in Eagle Butte, South Dakota to John and Margaretha (Rieger) Ganje. Her parents left their homestead in 1936, moving to Villard, where she attended school and graduated.
She met and married Marvin Betterman in June 1946. They moved to Parkers Prairie, where they worked and started their family. In 1953, they moved to Great Falls, Montana and then to Conrad in 1955.
As a young adult, she was a waitress and later a housekeeper, retiring from Pondera Medical Center in 1990.
Victoria was involved with Brownie Scouts and Cub Scouts. She shared cooking, sewing and homemaking skills with youngsters as a 4-H leader for 20 years. She was also a member of the Women of the Moose, serving on numerous committees.
Victoria is survived by her son, Jim; daughters, Judy, Karen, Patty and Pam; 10 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandsons; sister, Mary Rajdl and brother, Ben (Dice) Ganje, both of Alexandria; sister-in-law, Leona Betterman of Perham; many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband; two grandsons; a great-granddaughter; five brothers and three sisters.
