Casey Vangsness continued his run of strong golf with another medalist finish. He started his round with 10 straight pars before finishing with a round of 73. He was the only Cardinal golfer to finish in the 70's.

Despite that, Alexandria still finished just five strokes back of second-place finisher Moorhead. Chaska won the invite with a 308.

"The Pines is aptly named with every hole cut directly out of the trees," head coach Rick Larson said. "Accuracy is important for scoring and most of the players struggled with this and had many penalty strokes and punch outs from behind trees."

Chris Sholts and Bennett Black both shot an 83, while Ben VanKeulen rounded out the Cardinals' top four scores with an 84. Sartell-St. Stephen was the only other Central Lakes Conference team to finish in front of them. The Sabres tied for fourth with a team score of 320.
