Vangsness 41st in state amateur

Alexandria's Casey Vangsness finished 41st after the final round of the 107 Minnesota Golf Association State Amateur Championship at Dakotah Ridge Golf Club in Morton, with a total 76-75-77-228. He made the day two cut by finishing 34th.

Both Gordy Diekman of Alexandria and former Alexandrian Jack Dressen missed the cut after day two.

Dressen came in with a 75-79-154, while Diekman finished at 81-79-160. The cut was 153.

Tom Hoge of Village Green Golf Club won the tournament with a three-day total of 67-67-71-205, one stroke ahead of Resorters regular Donald Constable of Deephaven.
