UPDATE Thursday: Driver in Evansville rollover in serious condition

Two people were injured, one severely, in a one-vehicle rollover near Evansville Wednesday morning.

The crash happened about a mile west of Evansville on County Road 41 at 9:10 a.m. when the driver, Karla Winter, 50, of Brandon lost control and entered a ditch.

The vehicle rolled over several times, according to the Douglas County Sheriff's Office.

Winter was thrown from the vehicle and suffered serious injuries, according to the sheriff's office.

A Life Link helicopter was called to the scene and Winter was flown to the St. Cloud Hospital.

As of Thursday morning, she remained hospitalized and was listed in serious condition.

A 17-year-old passenger, Evan Dahle, or rural Evansville, suffered minor injuries and was transported to the Douglas County Hospital by Ashby Ambulance.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.

Responding agencies included Evansville Fire and Rescue, Ashby Ambulance, North Memorial Ambulance, Life Link and the sheriff's office.
