UPDATE 8:05 a.m. Blizzard warning closes Alexandria, Osakis schools

Several schools in the Douglas County area are closed or running two hours late Friday morning because of the bad weather.

Alexandria and Osakis schools are closed. As of 8:05 a.m. Friday, schools with late starts include Brandon-Evansville, Minnewaska, Parkers Prairie and West Central Area.

West central Minnesota was under a blizzard warning until 6 a.m. Friday. Strong winds of up to 45 miles per hour are expected to create white-out conditions.
