UPDATE 5 P.M. House fire near Garfield injures two people (w/video)

The names of the two people injured in a fire near Garfield this morning, Tuesday, have been released.

Darrell and Judy Williams were inside the home at 8255 County Road NW, Garfield when firefighters removed them from the burning house in sub-zero temperatures. They were suffering from burns and smoke inhalation, according to the Douglas County Sheriff's Office. They were transported to the Douglas County Hospital. The extent of their injuries is not known at this time.

The house is a complete loss.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

The fire happened along County Road 8 near the intersection of County Road 40. The Garfield Fire Department received the call at about 5:30 a.m. and received mutual aid from Brandon. The sheriff's office and North Ambulance also responded.

Portions of County Road 8 were shut down as a result of the fire.

Firefighters were at the scene for several hours.
