Owen Miller, an Alexandria City Council member, and Chuck Nettestad, former Alexandria police chief, prevailed in the Douglas County Commissioner District 5 primary.

All 37 precincts have now reported. Election officials discovered an error in one of the smaller precincts, Urness Township, early this morning, which did not change the outcome. Here are the new unofficial results:

The top two vote-getters in each race will go on to appear on the ballot for the general election on November 4.

Also, in the Republican primary for Minnesota House District 12A, Jeff Backer was the winner over Nancy Taffe. He received 338 votes to Taffe's 126.
