United Way names campaign chairs for Douglas, Pope counties
United Way recently named the Douglas County campaign chairs for the 2012-13 campaign year. Lee and Judy Backhaus team up with their daughter Bria and son Beau to lead this year's campaign.
Judy currently serves on United Way's Board of Directors and is the human resources director for District 206. Judy is an actively involved member of the Education Foundation, Diversity Resource Action Alliance, and the Mental Health Collaborative Board.
Lee owns and operates Backhaus Appraisals. Lee has a passion for working with youth and loves sports of all kinds. Lee volunteers with Sertoma, United Way and his church.
Beau is a senior at Jefferson High School in Alexandria. He has a part-time job at The Faction.
Bria is a speech language pathology assistant for the Runestone Area Education District at Minnewaska Schools. She is a speech language pathology assistant. She graduated in May from the University of Northern Colorado with a bachelor's degree in audiology and speech language pathology. She is also a graduate of Jefferson High School.
The Backhaus family will serve as chairs in Douglas County and will serve with Barb Ostrander, who chairs the Pope County campaign.
