United Way funding falling short
With United Way’s campaign for this year drawing to a close, the needs and expenses for services have increased, and campaign dollars are down.
In Douglas and Pope counties, United Way and partner agencies offered 17,816 individuals services.
This year’s campaign has not received the financial support needed to maintain this level of service. United Way asks the public to think seriously about giving to the organization to help continue funding its 46 quality programs.
United Way is working to advance the common good by focusing on education, income and health, which it believes are the building blocks for a good life.
Its goal is to create long lasting changes that prevent problems from happening in the first place. It invites the public to be part of the change.
