Underwood tops Brandon-Evansville in double overtime

It took two overtimes, but Underwood was able to pull out a 51-46 victory over the Brandon-Evansville boys’ basketball team Friday night in Brandon.

Sophomore Skyler Quinn scored a team-high 11 points for the Chargers and junior Tom Bosek scored 10, including two-free throws to send the game to a second overtime. Spencer Johnson led Underwood with 15 points.

After the game, head coach John Holsten was impressed with the Chargers’ effort, especially on the defensive side of the floor.

“We played hard, sometime we didn’t make the best decisions but we were active and tried to make things happen,” Holsten said.

After hitting key shots to keep Brandon-Evansville alive in the game, Bosek said he enjoyed the vibes coming from his bench.

“It felt pretty good having my teammates giving me a thumbs up and cheering me on,” Bosek said. “ It was a good feeling.”

The loss dropped the Chargers to 1-4 this season.
