UCAN hosts free luncheon for men
The Alexandria chapter of United Communities Advocating Non-
Violence (UCAN) is hosting a free luncheon for men who are concerned about the issue of domestic violence in their community.
The luncheon is planned for Monday, February 1, beginning promptly at noon and ending at 12:55 p.m. in the lower level of Calvary Lutheran Church in Alexandria.
The guest speaker for the event is Chuck Derry from the Gender Violence Institute and the Minnesota Men's Action Network. He will focus on what men can do to help reduce domestic violence in their communities.
The organizers of the event said, "The lunch is free. We are just asking you to be there and to consider getting involved with other men of the community in this worthwhile effort."
To get your free ticket, send an e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org.
UCAN's goal is to get 100 men in the Douglas County community who will "step up to the plate" and get involved to create a better community.
