Two residents win big Lottery prizes

Two Douglas County residents were winners in Minnesota Lottery games.

Bradley Barnett of Alexandria won $5,000 by playing the Lottery’s Black Cherry Crossword scratch game. Barnett claimed the prize on April 4. The winning ticket was purchased at Holiday, 320 3rd Avenue East in Alexandria.

Amilee Woida of Brandon won $5,000 by playing the Lottery’s 5X Crossword scratch game. Woida claimed the prize on April 4. The winning ticket was purchased at Millerville Municipal Liquor Store, 16655 County Road 7 NW in Brandon.

Since 1990, the Lottery has raised more than $2.3 billion for state programs. The General Fund has received $1.3 billion to help fund functions such as education, public safety and health and human services. More than $925 million has funded environmental programs.
