Treasure Hunters Roadshow to stop here
Ever wonder what that old pocket watch or your old Barbie Dolls are worth?
Representatives will be in the Alexandria area to help identify and value antiques and collectibles that are brought to the Treasure Hunters Roadshow. The International Collectors Association will hold the event July 29, 30, 31 and August 1 and 2 at the Holiday Inn in Alexandria. Hours are Tuesday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The event will focus on coins and paper currency issued prior to 1965, toys, dolls, trains, vintage jewelry, old and modern musical instruments, war memorabilia, gold and silver jewelry, costume jewelry, advertising memorabilia, swords, knives, daggers and the unusual.
Most items made before 1965 are sought after by collectors. At this event, people will not only find out what an item is worth, they will have an opportunity to sell their items. The event links owners with collectors from around the world. Representatives will take offers based on what collectors are willing to pay. Then when someone decides to sell they get paid on the spot and the association will send the item to the collector at their expense.
Gold will also be purchased during this event. Gold is trading at more than $800 per ounce, a 25-year high. All types of gold will be purchased, including broken jewelry, dental gold, gold coins, gold bars, etc. Gold is traded on the stock market and prices fluctuate daily.
