Traveling Tree House offers four more weeks of fun

The Traveling Tree House has made memories for many children already this summer, but there are just four more weeks.

Each child attending takes part in activities and a free book and healthy meal will be provided to them.

Upcoming weekly themes include: making music, science, ocean commotion and library fun with Sarah Wethern, Douglas County children’s librarian.

During “making music” week, Rainbow Strings will perform at all three locations on Wednesday, July 30 as follows: City Park at 8:30 a.m., Lake Carlos State Park at 10:30 a.m. and Miltona School at 12:30 p.m.

Call the United Way office at (320) 834-7800 or like them on Facebook for updated information.

United Way has given away as many as 250 books each week.

If you would like to donate children’s books in good condition, bring them to the United Way office at 503 Hawthorne Street, Alexandria.
