Traveling History Players to perform at Bethany Chapel
The Traveling History players from the Minnesota Historical Society will perform a narrative of William de la Barre at Ecuman Bethany Community Chapel in Alexandria on Monday, June 18 at 2:30 p.m.
The costumed performers will show the dangers of millwork, the milling disaster that brought Austrian-born de la Barre to Minneapolis, and how he helped Minneapolis become a world power in flour production.
They will also portray his secret reconnaissance mission to Hungary, revolutionizing flour milling in America, and his career as the chief water engineer for the first hydroelectric power station built in the U.S.
Coffee and cookies will be served after the performance.
