Tour of experimental farm offers sustainable agriculture tips
The Rural Enterprise Center, University of Minnesota Extension and Rural Advantage is offering a tour of the center's experimental farm near Northfield.
The "walk-n-talk" field day will take place on Wednesday, September 7, from 2 to 5 p.m. Attendees will learn how the farming system combines poultry production and agriforestry/perennial cropping for a more sustainable, successful agriculture operation.
The tour will also include a presentation on the Rural Enterprise Center's efforts to create a sustainable agricultural system compatible with the challenges and strengths of aspiring Latino farmers or agripreneurs.
The Rural Enterprise Center is a program of Main Street Project.

From Northfield: Follow MN Hwy 3 North about 2.0 miles. Turn left (East) onto 315th St. W. In less than 1.0 mile, the experimental farm will be on the right (North) side of road. Look for the sign announcing, "Finca Mirasol."
