Lynn Mounsdon | Echo Press Drivers in the Leaf Valley Speed Rally competed for prizes in dozens of different classes Saturday. The event took place on north Lake Miltona at the Sandy Beach public access.

Lake Miltona was the stage for speed Saturday.

Snowmobiles, ATVs - even motorcycles - zipped across a 1,000 foot shaved track.

They were competing against a radar gun in the fifth annual Leaf Valley Speed Rally.


The open-to-the-public event featured more than 40 classes, ranging from Kitty Kat to open fuel. The top three places in each class receive a trophy.

There was also a top speed of the day contest, which paid cash prizes of $500, $250 and $150.
