When Lee Ostendorf of Tiremaxx was asked to help out the Douglas County Car Care Program (DCCCP) by repairing a 1994 Plymouth Acclaim, he immediately said yes. The car only had 95,000 miles on it.

Tiremaxx replaced the head gasket, camshaft, water pump, plugs, wires, distributor, rotor and two tires. With Tiremaxx’s labor, and parts provided by NAPA, the car was affordable for DCCCP to have the car repaired and donated to a family.

Amanda Scott, a single mom with three daughters, received the car. She had lost her job after losing transportation to work.

The DCCCP is always in need of donated vehicles and financial contributions to maintain the program.

DCCCP’s mission is “promoting independence by providing car care.”
