Time to salute veterans
To the editor:
Veterans Day was originally called Armistice Day in 1938 to mark the anniversary of the ending of World War I. Not until 1954 did we officially proclaim it Veterans Day in order to pay tribute to the more than 16.5 million Americans who served in the Second Great War.
