There's still time to sign up for Leadership Alexandria

All area residents and business people are invited to enroll in the 2011-2012 Class of "Leadership Alexandria," the nine-month program of the Alexandria Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce, Alexandria Technical and Community College, and the West Central Initiative Fund.

The program enhances participants' leadership skills while familiarizing them with the community, its rich history and all that it has to offer today.

Community leaders serve as instructors for the program, which begins with a two-day retreat at the Interlachen Lodge in October, then meets one day per month, and also includes a trip to Business Day at the State Capitol in the Spring. Graduation takes place in early May of 2012. Some partial scholarships may be available. For more information, or to sign up for Leadership Alexandria, call the Chamber at (320) 763-3161 or e-mail cmckay@alexandriamn.org.

Past Leadership Graduates and the Public are invited to attend the kick-off of the 2012 Leadership Program at the Chamber's September Quarterly Luncheon on Friday, September 23 at the Holiday Inn of Alexandria. Kevin Kopischke, president of the Alexandria Technical and Community College, will be the speaker for the event and the incoming students will be welcomed at this event. Cost to attend the luncheon is $12 per person. Please RSVP to the Chamber via phone at (320) 763-3161 or e-mail info@alexandriamn.org.
