Therapist Jim Otremba to give Healing Anxiety presentation

Catalyst Covenant Church in Alexandria will host a presentation, Healing Anxiety, during Catalyst’s morning worship service on Sunday, December 8 at 10 a.m. at Woodland School, 1410 South McKay Avenue, Alexandria.

Jim Otremba, therapistThe presentation is a part of a Sunday morning Advent worship series, “Do Not Fear: Overcoming the Anxieties of Everyday Living.”

Therapist Jim Otremba will be talking about practical ways people can begin to experience healing from stress and anxiety during the holiday season and throughout the year.

The presentation is free and open to the public. Lunch will be served after the service. A free will offering will be accepted.

Nursery care and classes for preschoolers are available. Elementary kids will take part in the presentation, followed by an age-appropriate time of games, activities and reflection on the morning’s theme.

Otremba speaks around Minnesota and nationally and is a weekly guest on the Tuesday morning radio show at Spirit 92.9, where he discusses relationships, parenting, stress management and other issues.

Otremba also owns the Center for Family Counseling, Inc. in St. Cloud, where he provides Christian counseling as a licensed independent clinical social worker along with other Christian therapists.

He works as a Christian lifestyle coach, helping people go from “good to great or great to exceptional” in their professional or personal lives.

Otremba is also the author of several workbooks, including A New Day in Christ: How to Calm Stress and Anxiety at Home, Work, or Relationships in Twenty Minutes a Day. This workbook and other materials will be available for sale before and after the Catalyst service on Sunday, December 8.

Otremba holds a Master of Science degree in applied psychology from St. Cloud State University and a Master of Divinity from St. John’s University.

He and his wife, Maureen, have three children ages 14, 12 and 9.
