The depth of the St. Cloud Tech swimming and diving team was too much for Alexandria to overcome last Thursday night as the Tigers won 109-76 at Discovery Middle School.

Alexandria had five wins and trailed by just five after diving. That’s when the Tigers responded by outscoring the Cardinals in five of the last seven events.

Mark Kallevig had another nice night for Alexandria with two wins. He took the 200 IM in 2:11.73 and the 100 butterfly in 57.46 seconds. Elliot Jacobson was right behind him in second place in the 200 IM in 2:18.35 and D’Anthony Moorer made it a 1-2-3 finish for Alexandria in that event with a third-place finish in 2:21.74.

Jacobson added a first-place finish in the 100 breaststroke (1:06.18). Max Jacobson did the same in the 50 freestyle (23.56) and Brady Wolkow continued his strong season in diving with a win after putting up 231.90 points. That was almost 30 points higher than his previous season best.

The Tigers made sure that wasn’t quite enough as they dropped Alexandria to 1-4 overall and to 1-3 in the Central Lakes Conference. The Cardinals will try to earn their second win when they host Sauk Rapids-Rice tomorrow, Thursday, at DMS.
