A tale of young lovers
Central Square Concert Series X will present Shakespeare's enduring tale of young love, Romeo and Juliet, on Saturday, April 13 at 7:30 p.m. in the Historic Auditorium in Glenwood.
The play will be performed by one of America's longest-running classical touring companies, The National Players. The production features young professional actors in a re-imagined and irresistibly visceral telling of Romeo and Juliet.
The National Players will also present a free acting workshop, Acting and Improvisation II for high school, college and community actors, on Saturday, April 13 at 1 p.m. at Central Square.
It will include warm up exercises for voice, body and imagination and improvisation as a way to create character.
Tickets for the play are $15 for adults and $5 for students. For reserved seating and to sign up for the free workshop, call the Central Square Box office in Glenwood at (320) 634-0400 or 1-866-497-0400. Tickets for the performance will also be available at the door.
This activity is funded in part by a grant from the Lake Region Arts Council through a Minnesota State Legislative appropriation.
