Take a virtual tour through Douglas County’s history
The public is invited to join Community Education’s “Our Magnificent Resort History: Promenade through the Eras” to take a virtual tour through the historic eras of the resort history of Douglas County.
Since the beginning of the settlement, the lakes area has been an attraction for business visitors and vacationers. From the Grand Hotel Era to the Mom and Pop resorts, Douglas County has had it all.
This virtual tour will include vintage lakes area maps, tidbits of fishing guide stories, lake “legends” and a time to share vacation tales.
Instructor Rachel Barduson is an area historian.
Class is Monday, April 28 from 3 to 4:30 p.m. at the Minnesota Lakes Maritime Museum in Alexandria. Cost is $13.
