The Cardinal swimming and diving team was still searching for its first win of the season after coming up just short in a 99-87 loss to Sauk Centre on Tuesday.

The Cardinals edged the Mainstreeters a year ago, but Sauk Centre won nine of the 12 events this time around to come away with the win. Jenna Kremer had one of the three wins for the Cardinals. She took the diving competition with 140.60 points, and Rachel Kriese took second for Alexandria with 120.35 points.

Kate LeBrasseur and Hannah Eklund won the other two individual events for the Cardinals. LeBrasseur took the 100 butterfly in 1:06.17, while Eklund won the 100 breaststroke in 1:13.51.

The Cardinals made some strides with nine season bests coming against Sauk Centre. Hannah Lindgren had two of those, most notably taking seven seconds off her time in the 500 freestyle.

Alexandria fell to 0-4 with the loss and remains at 0-2 in the Central Lakes Conference.
