The Osakis boys’ basketball team was unable to keep up a consistent offensive effort in a 67-51 loss at home to Swanville Thursday.

The Silverstreaks had no problem running its offense early, but once Swanville switched to a zone defense, head coach Matt Hoelscher felt the team should have played more aggressively.

“We were attacking the basket in their man defenses and getting great shots, but once they switched defense we went into a drought,” Hoelscher said. “We have to be more aggressive in those situations and be a threat to create something.”

Osakis shot 43 percent on field goal attempts against Swanville. Two Silverstreaks finished in the double digits in offense with Hunter Scherr scoring 17 points and Luke Wolbeck finishing with 14.

The loss dropped Osakis to 4-12 overall this season, including a 1-7 mark in Prairie Conference play.
