Suspect faces charges in Grey Eagle assault and burglary
Authorities have filed a complaint against a 43-year-old rural Swanville man in connection with a home invasion and assault that happened in Grey Eagle last fall.
According to the Todd County Sheriff's Office, Robert John Wilder faces a long string of charges. He is being charged with two counts of kidnapping, one count of criminal sexual conduct in the first degree, one count of burglary in the first degree, one count of sexual assault with a dangerous weapon and one count of terroristic threats, said the sheriff's office, which issued a news release Thursday.
The charges stem from an incident on October 30, 2010 when a suspect forced his way into an elderly woman's Grey Eagle home.
According to authorities, the suspect stole cash from the victim, tied her up and had contact with her private parts. The suspect also allegedly made verbal threats to the victim if she did not comply with his demands.
Wilder is currently in custody at the Crow Wing County Jail on criminal charges related to an incident in Brainerd.
The Minnesota Bureau of Apprehension assisted the Todd County Sheriff's Office in its investigation.
