SCHOLARSHIPS:

Tara LeBrasseur, daughter of James and Lori LeBrasseur of Alexandria, received the North Dakota State University $2,000 Freshman Academic Scholarship and the $1,000 Academic Scholarship. The scholarships recognize high academic achievement. LeBrasseur will enter NDSU in the fall and plans to major in exercise science or dietetics.

David Corneliusen, son of Bruce and Julie Corneliusen of Alexandria, received the North Dakota State University (NDSU) Presidential Honor Scholarship, which totals $10,000 over four years. The scholarship recognizes high academic achievement and requires a student to score 29 or above on the ACT. Corneliusen will enter NDSU in the fall and plans to major in biotechnology.

Jessica Larson of Alexandria is the recipient of a Concordia College, Moorhead Scholarship. Larson, a 2013 graduate of Jefferson High School in Alexandria, is the daughter of Barry and Dawn Larson.

Erin Schueler of Alexandria is the recipient of a Presidential Distinction Scholarship from Concordia College, Moorhead. Schueler, a June 2013 graduate of Jefferson High School in Alexandria, is the daughter of Rick and Melisa Schueler.

The following students graduated from the College of St. Benedict in St. Joseph on May 11.

Alexandria: Whitney Radil, daughter of Dean and Judy Radil, Bachelor of Arts, mathematics, magna cum laude; Rachel Ziegler, daughter of Kim and Bill Ziegler, Bachelor of Arts, biology and peace studies, summa cum laude.

Army Spec. Blaine Fleener recently graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, South Carolina. During the nine weeks of training, he studied the Army mission, history, tradition and core values and received instruction and practice in basic combat skills, military weapons, chemical warfare, bayonet training and more. Fleener is the son of Glenn Fleener of Alexandria. He is a 2007 graduate of St. John's Preparatory in Collegeville. He received a bachelor's degree in 2011 from Beloit College, Wisconsin.

Amy Dahl of Alexandria graduated from Augustana College in Sioux Falls on May 25. She received a Bachelor of Arts degree.

The following students were named to the spring 2013 dean's list at St. Cloud State University for earning a grade point average of 3.75 or higher.
