Student accomplishments, graduates and honors

GRADUATES:

Army National Guard Private Tamara Schmidt graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, South Carolina.

During the nine weeks of training, Schmidt studied the Army mission, history, tradition and core values, physical fitness and received instruction and practice in basic combat skills, military weapons, chemical warfare and more.

Schmidt is the daughter of Duane Schmidt of Parkers Prairie. She is a 2012 graduate of Parkers Prairie High School.

The following students graduated from Bemidji State University.

Evansville: Necoe Henneman, Bachelor of Science, elementary education, magna cum laude.

Osakis: Kayla Voller, Bachelor of Science, elementary education, cum laude.

The following students graduated from the University of Minnesota, Morris.

Alexandria: Monty Blackberg, American Indian studies.

Miltona: Sara Froemming Chlian, psychology.

Andrea Nelson of Alexandria recently graduated from the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul. She received a Master of Business Administration degree.

The following students graduated from The College of St. Scholastica in Duluth in December.

Alexandria: Alyssa Courneya, Bachelor of Arts, social sciences; Kristi Winter, Bachelor of Science, nursing.

HONORS:

Patrick Moe, son of Tim and Marianne Moe of Alexandria, was named to the fall 2012 dean's list at St. John's University for earning a grade point average of at least 3.80 and completing 12 credits for which honor points were awarded. Moe is a senior art major.
