• Caring Hands Dental Clinic of Alexandria recently announced the addition of Chelsea Schmitt to its staff. Schmitt is a certified/licensed dental assistant. She graduated from St. Cloud Technical and Community College and resides between Alexandria and Glenwood. Schmitt has many professional certifications including CPR, infection control, ethics, radiation health and safety.
Caring Hands Dental Clinic provides complete dental care and education to citizens of all ages served by MA/MnCare, PrimeWest, Delta BluePlus, Medica and Health Partners.
• Herberger’s has helped raise more than $4.5 million for local 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations, local schools and its national partner, the American Heart Association.
Nonprofit groups signed up to sell the Community Days savings booklets in their neighborhoods and online to raise funds from January 6 through March 1. The savings booklets were sold for a $5 donation, with 100 percent of the donations raised benefiting their chosen organization. Herberger’s provided the booklets, selling guidance and support at no cost to participating nonprofit organizations.
The semi-annual Community Days event took place at all Herberger’s stores nationwide on February 28 and March 1.
• Marco Inc. was selected as one of the 100 Best Companies to Work For by Minnesota Business magazine for the second year in a row. This award identifies companies in Minnesota that excel in the areas of work environment, employee benefits and overall employee happiness.The “100 Best” were selected by an independent research firm using a variety of research techniques, including an anonymous online questionnaire filled out by the employees of each company. Winners will be recognized at an awards ceremony on Thursday, June 5 at St. Paul RiverCentre.
• Stanley Steemer has announced it is the first carpet cleaning service to meet the standards adopted by the Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America (AAFA) to earn the asthma and allergy friendly Certification Standard for Professional Carpet Cleaning. Stanley Steemer Spot Remover also earned AAFA’s asthma and allergy friendly certification in the Cleaning Products category.To achieve the asthma and allergy friendly certification, Stanley Steemer’s Professional Cleaning process underwent a rigorous course of testing to evaluate the levels of air and surface allergens before and after the carpet cleaning process, as well as the content of their cleaning chemicals.Stanley Steemer is headquartered in Dublin, Ohio and operates through a network of more than 300 company-owned and franchised locations throughout the U.S., including one in Alexandria.
