• Mark Anderson, president and CEO, and Tom Anderson, Knute Nelson Corporation Board of Directors chair, recently participated in an Aging Services of Minnesota panel on non-profit governance of selected CEOs and board leaders.


 The Governance Intensive, designed by Aging Services, showcased best practices for strengthening how CEOs and board teams govern and lead through today’s landscape of transformational change in older adult services for non-profit organizations.

• AmeriPride Services Inc. of St. Cloud, with a service center in Alexandria, a leading supplier of linen and uniform rental services in North America, announced that it is the largest commercial laundry organization worldwide to earn Clean Green certification from TRSA, the leading textile services industry association.

This designation signifies that its production facilities meet TRSA’s international standard for achieving efficiencies in water and energy conservation and adopting best management practices for reusing, reclaiming and recycling resources.

The Clean Green certification provides third-party verification that the uniforms, linens, mats, towels and other reusable textiles procured from AmeriPride are laundered in an environmentally friendly manner. It is the only industry certification that quantifies and validates a commercial laundry’s environmental sustainability.

• Bremer Bank loan officer Cindy Maanum was recently named a Top Producing Loan Officer by Minnesota Housing. Maanum was recognized for her work on FHA and HOME HELP loans completed in the last six months of 2013.

Maanum is a vice president and mortgage loan officer with 37 years of banking experience at Bremer, including 28 years in the mortgage industry. Maanum currently serves the Western Minnesota communities in the Alexandria area.

• Automotive Parts Headquarters Inc. (APH), a St. Cloud-based aftermarket auto parts distributor and store group, named Dan Thom as the recipient of the 2013 Auto Value Store Manager of the Year award.

Thom is the manager of the Alexandria Auto Value parts store. He was recognized during an awards banquet at APH’s annual Winter Conference on January 20.

Thom has been a member of the APH organization since 1983, when he worked part-time as a counterperson for the National Bushing store in Fergus Falls. He later transferred to the Alexandria store in 1990. In 2000, he was the recipient of the Auto Value Salesperson of the Year award. He was promoted to store manager in 2006.
