More than 100 state surplus vehicles of all types and sizes - including a Ford 8000 dump truck, 4350 aerial bucket lift van, and 4x4 snowplows - will be sold by the state at public auction Saturday, May 21 in Arden Hills.
Other items that will be sold to the highest bidder include snowmobiles, industrial laundry washer and dryers, riding and walk behind lawn mowers, trailers, over 20 bicycles, and other miscellaneous items. A preliminary list, including photographs of many of the items, is online at https://www.minnbid.org/public/auct_info.aspx?ID=168 .
The auction opens for inspection and registration at 8 a.m., with bidding beginning at about 9:30 a.m. at the Department of Administration Fleet and Surplus Services building, 5420 Old Highway 8 (southeast corner of Interstate 35W and Ramsey County Road I), Arden Hills. All goods are sold as-is, where-is; all sales are final and must be settled in full with cash or personal check the day of the auction.
Convenient, quick and easy registration and bidding numbers are now both available online. The only requirements are a computer with an internet connection and a printer; simple instructions are on the Surplus Services website, www.mnsurplus.org, then click on the 'Auctions' link. Current customers of the state's MinnBid internet auction service can get a bidding card online in just seconds.
The state conducts about 12 surplus goods auctions each year and also sells surplus continuously online at www.minnbid.org. In addition to the eight live auctions slated for the Twin Cities in 2011, this year's schedule includes sales in New Ulm, Bemidji, Luverne and Grand Rapids. An auction calendar is also available at www.mnsurplus.org.
