State golf: Alex girls third after day one

The Alexandria girls’ golf team is in third place after day one of the Class AAA state tournament on Tuesday afternoon.

The Cardinals shot a 330 and are 19 shots behind first-place Wayzata (311). Edina is currently in second place after shooting a 324 on day one.

Senior Amanda Bigger led the Cardinals with a 77. That’s good for a tie for seventh individually. Natalie Amundson shot an 82, Emily Thul shot an 84 and Bridget Amundson carded an 87 to round out the scoring for Alexandria. Allison Schwartz shot a 94 and Lauren Stockmoe a 95.
