The Alexandria girls' soccer team knew it would have to be almost perfect to have a chance against defending Class A state champion Blake last Thursday.

The Bears came into the opening round of the state tournament with 14 shutouts in 15 wins. They featured three all-state players in Maddy Crawford (G), Ali Leslie (M) and Lydia Sutton (M) and one honorable-mention all-state midfielder in Lauren Kelly.
