St. Mary's students experiment during science fair

Peer Rohr and Owen Myhr demonstrated their science project to other students. The boys' experiment tested how the weight of a rocket affected the height it could fly.

Students in 5th and 6th grade at St. Mary's School in Alexandria participated in the school's science fair on February 26.

The students came up with a topic that they would like to investigate and learn more about. From there, they formed a hypothesis, did research and came up with procedures to test their hypothesis.

Each student came up with an experiment and recorded and communicated their results in table and graph form. They organized their information on a display board and shared it with their classmates, the student body at St. Mary's, their parents and members of the church.

The students, taught by Angie Nelson, spent seven weeks on their science projects.
