Cardinal boys’ basketball camp
The Alexandria boys’ basketball program will host a basketball camp from June 16-19 at the Discovery Middle School Gym for those in grades kindergarten through seventh.
Camp directors will be Alexandria head coach Forrest Witt, along with assistant coaches Tom Miller and Ty Granning. Former and current Alexandria boys’ basketball players will also help out.
The camp will focus on fundamental and skill development, defensive, offensive and transition play, intangible keys and concepts to success, along with goal setting and teamwork philosophies.
Kindergarten through first graders ($30 fee) will run from 8-9 a.m. Second and third graders ($45 fee) from 9-10:30 a.m. Fourth and fifth graders ($60) are from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and sixth and seventh graders ($60 fee) will run from 1-3 p.m.

Alexandria boys’ basketball youth league
The Alexandria boys’ basketball program is hosting a youth basketball league for grades four through seven that starts on June 23 and runs on Mondays and Wednesdays through July 16.
The cost is $50. Fourth and fifth grade boys will go from 8-9:30 a.m. with sixth and seventh graders going from 9:30-11. Each league day will consist of one hour of instruction and skill development work, followed by 30 minutes of pick-up games of three-on-three and five-on-five.

The Shalom Lutheran Church runs are scheduled for Saturday, July 5, with a 5K, 10K, one-mile walk and 1K kids run taking place that day.
Registration for the races starts at 7 a.m. with the 5K and 10K beginning at 8. The one-mile walk will start at 8:05 and the kids’ run will take place at 9:10 with all of them taking off from the Shalom Lutheran Church at 681 Voyager Drive.
Cost is $20 for adults and $10 for kids ages 12 and younger. All proceeds go toward Shalom’s Good Samaritan/Benevolent Fund.

Kyle’s Lakes Area Classic
Registrations are being accepted for the 25th annual Kyle’s Lakes Area Classic men’s golf tournament, which will be held on May 31 at the Alexandria Golf Club.
The tournament is $100 per person and includes 18 holes of golf, cart, endless brats on the course and a prime rib buffet after the tournament.
The first 80 golfers to sign up will be entered into a raffle.

The Alexandria Area Special Olympics bocce ball season will start on June 5 at the YMCA in Alexandria.

Cap Paciotti Memorial Golf Tournament
The Cardinal Athletic Foundation’s Cap Paciotti Memorial Golf Tournament is scheduled for Saturday, June 14 at the Alexandria Golf Club.
This year’s honoree is former Jefferson High School health and physical education teacher and varsity basketball and baseball coach Roger Johnson.
A shotgun start will begin at 1 p.m. that day with a dinner and awards presentation to follow at 5. The tournament will feature a four-person handicapped scramble, field events, hole-in-one contests and skins and mulligans available at registration.
The entry fee is $500 for a four-person team. That includes green fees, cart, range balls, field events and dinner. Extra dinner tickets are $25. Proceeds from the fundraiser go to the Cardinal Athletic Foundation, which since its inception has provided more than $125,000 to support Alexandria Cardinals athletics.

Alex youth soccer registration
The Alexandria Area Soccer Association is accepting registrations for Soccer tots through U8 soccer players.

AGC Junior Golf Academy
The Alexandria Golf Club’s Junior Golf Academy is starting June 12 and running through August 21.
