CLC Performers of the Week Alexandria’s Amy Jost and Mark Kallevig recently were named Central Lakes Conference performers of the week for the awards that were announced on December 24.
Jost earned the honor in girls’ hockey as she posted 32 saves against Class AA’s second-ranked Hopkins on December 20. Kallevig won the award after winning the 50 freestyle and the 100 butterfly and helped out as a member of two winning relay teams.
SCSU track and field throwing clinic St. Cloud State University will hold its annual winter track and field throwing clinic in the university’s Halenbeck Hall Fieldhouse on January 20 from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The clinic is open to all boys and girls in grades 9 through 12. Cost is $35 per person and includes a T-shirt along with a lunch for participants. St. Cloud State coaches and athletes will instruct participants in the basics of the discus and shot put.
Clinic participants should bring their own shoes, indoor shot put and indoor/rubber discus. The registration deadline is January 15.

Northern Diamonds Academy baseball clinics Alexandria’s Caleb Curry will be hosting a baseball league and camp later this winter for area youths.
Curry, a former draft pick by the San Francisco Giants and now the director of the Northern Diamonds Academy, will have a Lil’ Hammers Baseball League for those in grades 2-6 on the dates of February 22, March 1 and March 8. The Saturday leagues will run from 9:30-11:30 a.m. at the Discovery Middle School gymnasium. There will be 45 minutes of construction followed by 60 minutes of life game action. The cost is $75.
Curry will also host an area baseball camp on March 8 at the DMS gym. Grades 6-8 will run from noon to 2:30 p.m. with grades 9-12 going from 3-5:30 p.m. The cost is $30.

Alex girls’ hockey fundraiser The Alexandria girls’ hockey program will hold a chili and burger feed and a silent auction on January 10 from 5-8 p.m. at the Alexandria Eagles Club.
Tickets for adults are $8 and $5 for children ages 5-12. Children ages 4 and younger will get in free. The tickets are available at the door or by contacting a girls’ high school hockey player.
WCA basketball tournament
West Central Area will hold a basketball tournament for boys and girls in grades 4-6 on Saturday, March 15.
