Boys’ basketball lasagna feed The Alexandria boys’ hoops boosters are holding a fundraising lasagna supper with all the fixings on Monday, November 11 from 4:30-7:30 p.m. at the D. Michael B’s Restaurant.

Money raised at the supper will go to help the Cardinal boys’ basketball program.

YMCA Turkey Day 5K The Alexandria Area YMCA is hosting the 3rd annual Turkey Day 5K on Thanksgiving Day, November 28 at the YMCA.

The race is open to both members and non-members. Check-in and registration begins at 6:30 a.m. followed by an 8 a.m. race start. The race begins at the YMCA, continues along the Central Lakes Trail and finishes back at the YMCA.

Participants who register before Monday, November 18 are guaranteed a T-shirt. Early bird registration is $20 and race-day registration is $25. Runners and walkers can register online at www.alexandriaymca.com or by calling (320) 834-9622.

Nelsen, Amundson earn section honors

Longtime cross country coaches Mark Nelsen and Jerry Amundson can add to their long list of accomplishments this season after Nelsen was named the Section 8AA head coach of the year and Amundson was named the 8AA assistant coach of the year.

The duo helped guide the Alexandria boys to an 11th-place team finish, while also coaching Bethany and Megan Hasz to first and second-place individual finishes, respectively.

Send us your hunting photos The Echo Press is looking for hunting photos from readers throughout all of this fall’s hunting seasons.

Send us the photos from your hunts this season, whether it’s pheasants, waterfowl, deer or turkey, along with a detailed story behind your hunt. Some photos will go into a new Outdoor Section in the print edition of the Echo Press and all of them will be put up online.

LAR youth basketball Lakes Area Recreation is accepting registrations for the youth basketball program for boys and girls in grades 1-6.

The season for grades 4-6 will run from November 2 through January 11. The 1st through 3rd grade season will run from December 7 through February 22.

The fee for this activity is $50.
