Alexandria 9, Thunder Bay 6

Alexandria capped off a perfect homestand with a 9-6 win against Thunder Bay.


The Blue Anchors offense was led by all-star Georgie Salem, who was 2-for-5 with a home run, two runs and four RBIs. Andrew Sohn and Aaron Gretz also picked up home runs in the game.

Blue Anchors starting pitcher Eldon Evans picked up the win, going 5 2/3 innings with three earned runs and one strikeout. Brandon Johnson earned the save. The Blue Anchors completed a sweep of the four-game homestand with a win against Mankato and three against Thunder Bay.


Osakis 11, KMS 1

The Osakis Legion baseball team's offense and pitching came together with an 11-1 victory in the second round of legion playoffs against Kerkhoven-Murdock-Sunberg.

Starting pitcher Ky Zimmel picked up the win for Osakis, going four innings with no earned runs and six strikeouts.

The two Zimmel brothers provided all of the Osakis RBIs on the night. Ky Zimmel ended the game with a walk off grand slam, enacting the 10-run rule. Doug Zimmel went 3-for-3 in the game with five RBIs and Ky Zimmel went 3-for-4 with six RBIs.

Brandon-Evansville 10, Hancock 7

The Brandon-Evansville Legion baseball team won their second round playoff game against Hancock 10-7.

The Brandon-Evansville offense was led by Zach Carlson, who went 3-for-5 with two doubles and three runs.

Pitcher Blake Satterlie earned the win, going six innings with two earned runs and one strikeout.
