La Crosse 11, Alexandria 5
The Blue Anchors got swept in a doubleheader against the La Crosse Loggers on Wednesday as they dropped game two 11-5 in seven innings.
The Loggers used nine runs over the second and third innings to run away with things. Eldon Evans was saddled with the loss after allowing seven runs, all earned, on six hits and three walks in 2 1/3 innings.
Michael Barash, Tyler Curtis and Alexandria's Dalton Leuschke each had two hits to lead Alexandria offensively.
La Crosse 7, Alexandria 4 (F/9 innings)
The Loggers needed extra innings but got the win in the opener after scoring two runs in the seventh to tie it.
The Blue Anchors led 4-2 heading into that final frame before La Crosse got to Alexandria relieve Andy Johnson for the tying runs. The Loggers added three in the top of the ninth and Onas Farfan worked his third straight scoreless inning to pick up the win and the save for La Crosse.
Ryan Blanchard and Leuschke each had two hits and scored a run for the Blue Anchors.
