Waterloo 11, Alexandria 3
The Waterloo Bucks scored six runs in the eighth inning on Saturday to blow open an 11-3 win over Alexandria.
The Blue Anchors had four errors in the game. Tyler Beck allowed five runs in five innings but just one of those runs was earned. He took the loss after allowing eight hits and striking out three.
Kris Goodman went 2-for-4 with a double and a run scored for Alexandria. Tim Cusick also doubled for the Blue Anchors.
Gopher Classic in St. Paul
Mitchell, SD 8, Alexandria 4
The Alexandria Post 87 Legion team fell to 1-2 at the Gopher Classic in St. Paul after falling 8-4 to a team from Mitchell, South Dakota on Saturday. Alexandria has two more games today to try and finish with a winning record. Post 87 will play Gillette, Wyoming at 4:30 before taking on North St. Paul at 7 tonight.
RESORTERS LEAGUE PLAYOFFS
Carlos 14, Long Prairie 4
The Carlos Cougars played like the top seed they are in the Resorters East playoffs on Saturday, beating Long Prairie 14-4. The win advanced the Cougars to a 7 p.m. game tonight against Clarissa. The Flyers beat Sauk Centre 7-4 on Saturday to advance to face the Cougars.
Brandon-Evansville 6, Kensington 3
The Bluedogs beat Kensington 6-3 in their first game of the West playoffs on Saturday night. They will play at 2 this afternoon against Osakis if the weather allows it after the Hawks beat Urbank-Parkers Prairie 1-0 on Saturday.
