Speeding driver caught with backpacks full of marijuana
The Douglas County Attorney filed charges against 20-year-old Dillon Anderson of Alexandria on Monday after he was stopped for speeding near Casey's Amusement Park on Friday.
According to the criminal complaint, Alexandria police officer Chad Melton observed two beer cans inside the vehicle and smelled the odor of marijuana.
A search of the vehicle revealed two backpacks full of marijuana and more than $17,000 in cash.
Anderson is charged with a felony fifth degree controlled substance crime for possession of marijuana with intent to sell. The cash and Anderson's vehicle, a Lincoln LS, were seized and the county attorney is seeking forfeiture.
