Someplace Safe to host public receptions
Throughout the month of March, Someplace Safe will be holding public thank you receptions across the region and the public is invited.
These events will be an opportunity for Someplace Safe workers to say thank you to the thousands of individuals - volunteers, donors, businesses, community groups, churches and others - who make their work possible. It will also be an opportunity for them to report back to the public and share more about what they have accomplished over the past year, how the public's support has been instrumental in their work, where they are headed in the coming months and years, and how and where the public fits into it all.
Someplace Safe will also be kicking off its first ever annual campaign throughout these events, with a goal of raising more than $53,000 to help support Someplace Safe programming. They are challenging communities in their service region to help them ensure that needed services for victims and survivors of crime are readily available for all who may need them by helping them reach this goal, approximately 5 percent of their annual budget for services.
Money raised during the annual campaign will be used to support services for victims and survivors in the communities in which it is raised.
Here in Douglas County, the reception will be held Friday morning, March 9 at 7:30 a.m. at the Holiday Inn in Alexandria.
Organizers request an RSVP for planning purposes; however, all will be welcomed and are encouraged to attend. To register, contact Stef at (320) 762-1995.
