Six Chargers named all-conference

After earning a Pheasant Conference championship, the Brandon-Evansville softball team had six players selected all-conference along with other awards for their efforts this season.

The team’s all-conference recipients were seniors Kinsley Randt and Megan Kokett, junior Emma Friedrich, and freshmen Carrigan Okerlund and Morgan Stelzer. All conference honorable mention awards were also given to senior Sara Roers, and freshmen Kennedy Lund and Lizzy Friedrich.

Randt was also named the Pheasant Conference’s pitcher of the year, and head coach Kasi Huschle was selected as the conference’s coach of the year.

The Chargers also took home some hardware for its efforts in the classroom. They earned the Team Academic Gold Award, which honors teams with a cumulative GPA of 3.75 or above, and Randt was named Academic All-State for being a senior with a GPA of 3.75 or above.

The Chargers also handed out some individual team awards for their efforts on the field. The team’s Most Valuable Player was Randt, the Gold Glove recipient was Kokett and the Silver Slugger was Emma Friedrich. Lund was handed the Miss Hustle award and Lizzy Friedrich was selected as Most Improved.
