Sieling files for state representative in District 8B
Jay Sieling officially filed on Tuesday for the Minnesota House of Representatives in District 8B.
The filing took place at the Douglas County Auditor’s Office in Alexandria.
Sieling said he’s running against Mary Franson, R-Alexandria, because, it’s time for new leadership.
“We need a voice in St Paul that can be heard,” he said. “A voice that will support the educational needs, health care concerns, technology and infrastructure needs of this region. I am running for the people, not the party. Rural Minnesotans deserve to be listened to, and to be heard.”
Sieling, an instructor in the liberal arts department at Alexandria Technical and Community College, and his wife, Deborah Dittberner, have lived in the Alexandria area for more than 20 years.
“This is a wonderful place to raise a family, run a business, go to school, shop and retire,” he said. “I want to be sure we have a seat at the table when crafting policies that impact this region. I am ready to speak to those issues, to listen to the people of this district and to be their voice in St. Paul.”
