Section 6AA-South boys' basketball: Eden Valley-Watkins tops Minnewaska

A 45-point second half by Eden Valley-Watkins broke open what was a one-point halftime battle with Minnewaska, knocking the Lakers out of the Section 6AA-South boys' basketball tournament Thursday.

The Lakers trailed by one at the half 29-28, but the Eagles quickly pulled away and cruised to a 74-59 win, and ending Minnewaska's season with an 11-15 record.

Minnewaska's three Austins led the way in the loss as senior Austin Lieser had 18 points, seven rebounds, five steals and three assists, junior Austin Ostrander had 15 points, three steals and two blocked shots, and senior Austin Giese added 10 points, five rebounds, five assists and a blocked shot.
