Austin Ostrander's walk-off two-run double with one out in the bottom of the seventh moved the Lakers one step closer to another chance at the Section 6AA title.

Things did not look good for Minnewaska in its elimination game against Ottertail Central Thursday night as they trailed 6-5 after five and half innings, then the two teams sat through a two-hour rain delay.

Minnewaska went down in order in the bottom of the sixth, but were able to hold the Bulldogs scoreless in the seventh.

In their final chance to turn things around, the Lakers took advantage of a pair of walks and a throwing error by the Bulldogs to load the bases.

It was then, with one out, that Ostrander came to the plate and laced a double to right field to bring home the tying and winnings runs.

The Lakers' Riley Thompson couldn't get past the Flyer batters, who tagged him for eight hits in the game, including a solo home run in the second inning by Nate Backowski.

Minnewaska got hits from Jake Amundson, Austin Giese and Matt Paulson.

The loss dropped Minnewaska into the loser's bracket.
