Osakis led by just three at the half on Saturday afternoon before a 21-0 run for the Silverstreaks left the Pioneers (2-7) still looking for their third win of the season.

“That run started on the defensive end for us,” head coach Pat Kalpin said. “It was fun to watch the girls anticipate and play great team defense that second half. In the end, a nice road win for the girls.”

Brooke Sorenson had what Kalpin called her best game of the season. The senior did a little bit of everything for Osakis, including scoring a game-high 20 points.

“[She] had an outstanding game,” Kalpin said. “Not only did she hold their leading scorer to four points, she led our team with 20 points, adding five steals, five blocked shots, five rebounds and three assists. By far her best game of the year up to this point.”

The Silverstreaks also got 14 points, six assists and three steals from Annalise Savageau. Madi Forsell added eight points and four steals, while Mackenzie Staloch had eight points and three assists.

The end result was the sixth straight win for this team by double digits. The Silverstreaks are now 7-1. Their game at Browerville scheduled for this past Monday was postponed to January 11 because of the cold temperatures.
