The gymnasium at Alexandria Area High School (AAHS) has truly come to life with the installation of the customized bleachers. With enough seats to hold 2,200 people in the main gym, Cardinal Nation will be well equipped to house its many fans during sports season.

Though the bleachers were produced by a company based out of Michigan, a local family-owned business was responsible for the installation and future maintenance.

Construction Specialties, co-owned by Paul Fabian of Alexandria and his father, Tom Fabian of Sartell, spent five days installing the bleachers at AAHS, with fewer than 10 employees.

“There are only a few other companies that have the ability to install large jobs like this,” Paul said. The job was the highest number of rows he has ever installed in a high school.

While the older, traditional wood bleachers typically last longer with the proper maintenance, today’s updated, mechanical and detailed bleachers will have a life span of 30 to 40 years.
