School Scoop: On site at AAHS

As the opening of the new Alexandria Area High School inches closer every day, the school has begun to truly take form as a place for youth to learn.

During the past three months, the site was winterized; roofing, masonry work and exterior windows were completed; and the construction crew worked on mechanical, electrical, plumbing and sheetrock.

Currently, gym equipment and lockers for the locker room are being put into place, along with auditorium stairways, tiling throughout the building, and kitchen equipment.

Painting is also being done, with 60 percent of the classroom wings being finished.

In the next couple months, the newspaper will look into the interior framing and drywall, paint, tile, ceilings, flooring, and woodwork being finished, and auditorium seating being installed.

Every Friday, the Echo Press will put together an update for the community and include a photo from the site. Check and our Facebook page for other photos of the ongoing updates.
